Quillica is operated by Cwtch Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

What we collect

When you use Quillica, we may collect:

Account information — your email address and password (passwords are hashed, never stored in plain text)
Waitlist signups — your email address if you join the waitlist
Writing content — the novels, characters, scenes, and other creative content you create within Quillica, stored securely to provide the service
Usage data — which features you use and how many tokens you consume, for billing and service improvement
Technical data — browser type, IP address, and similar technical information collected automatically

How we use your data

To provide the service — storing your projects, processing AI requests, syncing across devices
To manage your account — authentication, billing, usage tracking
To communicate with you — service updates, launch notifications (if you joined the waitlist), and support
To improve Quillica — understanding feature usage to make the product better

Your writing stays yours

Your creative content belongs to you. We do not read, sell, or share your writing. Your content is never used to train AI models. It is only sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) when you explicitly use an AI-powered feature, and Anthropic does not use API inputs for training.

Third-party services

We use the following services to operate Quillica:

Supabase — database and authentication (your data is stored securely in their EU/US infrastructure)
Anthropic (Claude) — AI processing (content is sent only when you use AI features, subject to their privacy policy)
Lemon Squeezy — payment processing (we never see or store your card details)
Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery

Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use HTTPS for all connections, row-level security on our database, and never store passwords in plain text. Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel only.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data and writing content within 30 days. Anonymised usage statistics may be retained for analytics.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Export your data in a portable format
Object to processing of your data
Withdraw consent at any time

Cookies

Quillica uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Quillica is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
